Good Morning, and HAPPY TUESDAY! We’re halfway through September, and on into the spooky month. What better way to get into it, than with yet another scary office story.
Tim is just arriving to work, excited about an advertising project he as been working on all week for his company. This is no ordinary project though. This is THE project, the one that spells the difference between living large, or going broke. Of course, he needs samples to bring to the meeting.
He gets in an hour early, so he can get a head start on the prep and presentation. You see, Tim needs 25 high quality copies of each advertisement he has put together. He has a total of 5 different items to present.
Once he has everything perfected, He gives a sigh of relief, and hits the PRINT button to continue. The copy machine in the hall springs to life, and prints out his presentations, while he sits at his desk, sipping his morning cup of coffee.
When the copier is done, Tim goes to collect his hard work, ready for the big moment. He arrives at the copier, collects his documents, and looks at them. All is looking well, until………
“WHAT?! MY BEAUTIFUL WORK! WHAT IS THIS HORRIBLE MARK?!”
Tim has encountered one big thing that can stop an office worker cold: His beautifully laid out presentations are covered in a layer of streaks and smudges. Tim remembers the last time this happened, and goes to check his print driver settings, to make sure the paper size and type is set right, which he finds it is. He checks the paper in the tray for moisture ingress, but it is fine. The hallway has excellent climate and humidity control.
Figuring it was some one off issue, Tim goes into the cleaning menus on the machine to clean the drums and laser scanner. Once the machine is done, he gives it another go.
Again, Tim hits print, and this time, runs to the copier to watch his hard work come out.
“NOOOOO!!!!! IT’S WORSE THAN BEFORE!!!”
Yep, that’s right, instead of clearing the defect, it actually worsened. Tim’s boss comes in at that time, and asks if he is OK. Tim shows his boss what is going on, and the boss is immediately on the phone with their dealer.
He tells the person at their dealer what is going on, and that they need someone here ASAP to get their machine back up and running. The person on the other end tells them that while they can get someone out to look at the issue, from the sounds of it, a part would need to be ordered, which can take up to a week.
The boss then gets off the phone with the dealer, and looks to Tim
“Tim, Do you have a trick up your sleeve to get us through this? Maybe get us a temporary printer? They said it may take a week, but we need it now!”
Tim thought for a minute, then he remembered something big: His best friend, Mike just got a new CopyLady copier in his office last month.
“I have an idea”, Tim says to his boss.
He then calls up Mike and explains to him what is going on with their copier, and the bind that they are in. The meeting with their client is in 45 minutes.
Of course, Mike, being the cool guy he is, tells Tim to bring his files and print em out at his office.
Tim rushes across town to Mike’s office, USB drive full of files in hand. Mike has Tim use the secretary’s PC, which has been fully set up to print to the CopyLady machine.
Tim inserts his USB drive, and starts printing out all of the copies he needs. Timidly, he walks to the copier to watch.
His eyes open wide when he sees what comes out of the copier.
“WOW! Not only is this streak free, but it’s so clear, sharp and crisp! Way better than the copier in our office!”
“That’s one reason why I got this machine”, replied Mike. “They even have an amazing call response time, and I never have to wait for service or supplies”
“If only my boss would see just how awesome CopyLady is. We need a machine like this in OUR office”, said Tim.
Mike then hands Tim the business card that the CopyLady tech left him when they installed the machine. “Take this to your boss, and show him your copies”.
Back in the office, with a mere 10 minutes to spare. The clients are in the meeting room, and Tim has returned with the printed advertising samples. His boss looks at the prints and also gushes over how clear and sharp they are.
“Tim, your friend Mike’s copier is AMAZING! How can we get something like this??” The boss exclaimed.
“Call these people. Mike says the service is just as amazing as the machine!” Mike said as he handed the business card to his boss.
Fast forward 2 hours later, Tim’s company successfully lands a HUGE advertising contract as a result of the amazing display and hard work. Tim’s boss wastes NO time in calling CopyLady. In fact, he doesn’t even take the time to go back to his office, but rather does it right in Tim’s office, closer to the meeting room.
From there, he talks to Cynthia, who puts together a proposal that literally knocks his socks off when he gets it! He’s already impressed with the quality of the machine’s copies, and the described quality of service. Once he sees what the proposal, he’s beyond amazed. He wastes no time in signing and sending the agreement back to Cynthia.
Tim’s boss sends in the paperwork. Not even 5 minutes after he sends in the signed agreement, Cliff calls to do the pre-installation survey and schedule the delivery date and time. Cliff gets everything he needs to prepare the new machine for Tim’s boss, including email addresses for the scanning feature. He even works with the company’s IT person to get networking set up and ready. The boss appoints Tim as the keyop and main person for the delivery.
Fast forward to the next day. Tim is coming into work when he sees something that brings a huge grin to his face: The CopyLady delivery van in his office’s parking lot. He knows that something awesome is happening.
As he is headed to his office, he walks past the brand new copier, along with the CopyLady tech putting the finishing touches on the machine itself. The tech’s assistant, working with the company’s IT person, goes around to each PC to set up the print drivers. The tech working on the machine finishes, and goes into print driver installation mode as well, starting with Tim’s PC.
After the installation is complete, The techs give a full training session on all of the functions and features of their shiny new copier, answering every question they have. Tim then signs of on all of the paperwork presented by the tech, and the techs depart. Office life is back to normal in less than 2 hours, well, almost normal. They now have a copier that works perfectly, and has a great service team behind it.
This comes in handy when Tim has an issue with printing something. He calls CopyLady, and talks to Cliff at the help desk.
“Good Morning, How do I get the machine to pick a specific tray when printing?” Asked Tim
Cliff explains to Tim how to access and navigate the print driver menus from the software he’s printing from. He also explains how the machine can automatically detect what size paper is in the machine, and which way it is loaded.
Tim then reaches back out to Mike, and tells him that his boss got a CopyLady copier in their office, and how happy everyone has been with it since.
“Everyone in my office loves it too! They also love the help desk guy who really knows his stuff! Going with CopyLady is one of, if not THE BEST decision I’ve made!” Exclaimed Mike
“That Help desk guy is definitely epic. Our last dealer would just send someone to fix it, making us wait. Not this one though, he walked me through my question, and we were done in less than 10 minutes! I like this because it gives me even more knowledge of our copier! Thanks for recommending CopyLady to us!” Said Tim.
Moral of the story here: Don’t settle for less than the best. We won’t make you wait a week if your machine needs a part. If we don’t have the part, we will get the part. If we can’t fix the machine that day, we will bring you a loaner machine to keep you going!
It’s also good to have friends that already have a CopyLady machine, so you can see just what Awesome is like!
