Before you proceed, Check out this brief self-help guide.CHECK TRAYS: Check the tray that you are having the issues with. Check the following:* Ensure that all tray guides are snugged to the paper. * Ensure tray is not overfilled. * Check for paper stuck BEHIND the paper tray. * Pull paper from tray. Fan it out to ensure no sheets are sticking together. Make sure edges of paper are straight. * Try using a fresh (Unopened) ream of paper. * Ensure tray settings on machine are correct. The default size is Auto(Inch). This lets your machine automatically detect the paper size in the tray. Ensure that the paper TYPE setting matches the paper you have loaded. (Standard copy paper is "Plain".) * Ensure your PC/MAC has the proper print drivers. Click "Download Drivers" at the top of this page to download the proper drivers for your machine.Jamming Issues - Copying/ScanningIf you are getting jams when using the top feeder, try these simple steps:* Ensure that your originals are free of staples, paper clips, loose tape, etc. * Take a manila folder, open the top of the feeder, and slowly feed the folder through the unit. This will help dislodge any obstructions that may be in the feed path. Use the "C" wheel inside to feed the folder through the bottom to the exit point. * Use a lightly damp cloth to clean off the feed rollers at the top of the feeder unit.Crooked PrintsThe most common cause of crooked or misaligned prints is improperly set tray guides. When the guides are not set tight against the paper, the paper can slide out of place during feeding, causing the machine to feed it in crooked. Ensure that all guides are tight against the paper in the tray.Crooked Scans/CopiesThere's three things you can look at to resolve an issue with skewed scans or copies.1: If you are using the feeder, Ensure the feeder guides are tight against the documents.2: If you are using the flat glass, Ensure that the top left corner of your document (Face down) is aligned with the top left corner and left side of the glass (Next to the slit glass).3: Take a manila folder, open the top of the feeder, and slowly feed the folder through the unit. This will help dislodge any obstructions that may be in the feed path, which can cause your scanned documents to get nudged out of alignment. Use the "C" wheel inside to feed the folder through the bottom to the exit point.Print Quality IssuesThere's three things you can check to help resolve this issue:* Ensure your PC/MAC has the proper print drivers. Click "Download Drivers" at the top of this page to download the proper drivers for your machine. * Check the document you are printing. Ensure there are no quality defects in it. * If you are printing from the internet/email (Chrome, Edge, Firefox, ETC). Download the file instead, OR select the option to "Print using System Dialog". This bypasses the browser's internal print system, forcing it to use your print driver.Copy/Scan Quality IssuesIf you are seeing quality issues (Streaks, spots, etc) when making copies or scans, chances are the scanner glass simply needs to be cleaned.Use the microfiber cloth, located in a small cover at the rear of the top feeder. Lift the feeder to reveal both the main glass, and the strip to the left. Wipe down this small strip of glass. From there, lower the feeder, and open the top of it to reveal the inner glass. Clean the inner glass. If the microfiber cloth does not resolve the issue, you can use glass cleaner on a cloth. NEVER SPRAY DIRECTLY ON GLASS."Cannot Scan This Original."This error occurs when you are attempting to scan a secured document in color. Secured documents usually have a watermark to prevent counterfeitting. These documents are usually things like checks, ID cards, Cash, Birth Certificates, Passports, etc. The trick here is to scan these items in BLACK & WHITE.Errors while scanning large documents to emailIf you encounter issues while scanning a large document to email, this is usually due to an attachment size limit that is in place on the email server. There are ways to work around this.A: Scan in Black & White: This method is pretty simple, and involves scanning your documents without color, or any grayscale shading. This method works in the majority of cases, as removing color information can result in a significantly reduced attachment size.B: Lower the DPI: Lowering the DPI on your copier can also help shrink the size of an email attachment. The default is 300x300, but you can try 200x200, or 200x100.C: Check your copier's settings: It is possible to limit attachment sizes on the copier too! Log into your copier's web interface, then navigate to Function Settings > Email > Email Send Settings. Look at the Email Size Limit setting. If this is set to anything other than 0, set it to 0.D: Split the scan. Simply split your scan job into smaller scans. Note that you can use the "File Separation" feature on your copier. This will split the scan into smaller files for you.E: Consider scanning to a folder on a PC, or to a USB drive. Unlike scan to Email, Scanning to a shared folder (On a PC or server), or even to a USB drive does NOT have a size limit like that of email. While there IS a size limit imposed by the destination file system, you would have to scan at least 10 copies of the whole dictionary, War & Peace, and the Bible all at once!"Add Paper in Multipurpose Tray", Error F248, etcIf you are seeing this error, chances are your device does not have the correct print driver. To resolve, click "Download Drivers" at the top of this page to download the print drivers for your machine. If you are printing from the internet/email (Chrome, Edge, Firefox, ETC). Download the file instead, OR select the option to "Print using System Dialog". This bypasses the browser's internal print system, forcing it to use your print driver.Try printing another document of the same type. If that doesn't present the error, then the issue is a corrupted document. For the MP tray error, check your print settings. Ensure that the driver is set to the following defaults:Source: Auto Source Selection Media Type: Unspecified Destination: Printer DefaultLastly, ensure that the paper size/type you wish to print to is actually loaded into the machine, and that the tray it is in is configured properly on the machine. (System Menu > Cassette / MP Tray Settings). You must also ensure the guides are set snug around the paper.Error 1101 / 1102These error cods are common when scanning to email.1101 indicates that the copier is not able to connect to the email service that it uses to send your scans. Ensure that you have a working internet connection, and that your copier has a working network connection.1102 indicates that the username and/or password for the email account the copier uses to send your scans is incorrect. You will need to log into the copier's web interface, then navigate to Function Settings > Email. Ensure that the SMTP settings are correct. Adjust any that are not.Waste Toner Full / Not ReplacedIf you are seeing this error, that indicates that your machine's waste toner bottle needs to be changed out.On Console machines, You will change this out AT THE SAME TIME that you replace your BLACK toner. The empty black toner will become your new waste toner. The procedure to replace is as follows:1: Open the door with the COPYLADY badge on it. Remove the empty Black toner, and install the new one. 2: Open the door to the LEFT of the first paper tray. Remove the bottle that is in there. 3: Install the empty black toner bottle in the slot to the left of the first paper tray. 4: Close all open covers and doors. 5: Discard the old waste toner.*NOTE: This only works with the BLACK toner. The color toners CANNOT be used for this.On Desktop Machines, The waste toner bottle is included with your machine's replacement toner. This will usually be a small black, or opaque white bottle. *** On Machines that use the BLACK bottle: This normally goes behind a door on the right front corner of your machine. * For the opaque white ones: This usually goes behind a vented cover on the LEFT side of the machine. On older CopyLady machines: The WT bottles will either ship with your toner (2 to a toner), or will be shipped separately by CopyLady. These slot in near the toner behind the front cover. **For smaller consoles: The Waste Toner is located behind the toner access door. This will be a large, black cover-like object that sits just below the toners. Simply slide out the old unit, and slide in the new one. **** - Be careful not to spill the waste toner, as these do not come out sealed. Be sure to close the cap as soon as you have it out.I can't Print!First thing to check, especially for laptops and other mobile, is that you are on the network with the printer/copier.Chances are your device does not have the correct print driver. To resolve, click "Download Drivers" at the top of this page to download the print drivers for your machine. If you DO have the print drivers, but there has been a change on your network (New modem/router, etc), You may need to remove the printer, and reinstall it using the driver installer. Finally, perform a full power cycle of your machine. Unplug the unit from POWER for 30 Seconds, then plug it back in.I can't Scan!First step to resolve a scanning issue, and perhaps the simplest: Verify the destination of your scan. If it is an email address, verify that it has been entered correctly.Check your SPAM/JUNK folder. If you do NOT get an error, but also do NOT receive your scan, chances are it was filtered into your spam/junk folder. If this is the case, be sure to flag it as NOT SPAM.If you are scanning to a FOLDER, ensure the destination PC is turned ON and connected to the network with the copier. If you are getting error 1101 when scanning, this indicates the copier is unable to connect with your email server. If you are getting error 1102, This indicates a username/password issue with the email account the copier is using. If your IT person/company manages your email or scan folder, Consult them to find out if any changes were made around the time you began experiencing the issue.I can't Print or Scan! The first thing to do here if neither feature is working, is to perform a full power cycle of your machine. Unplug the unit from POWER for 30 Seconds, then plug it back in.If that does not resolve the issue, check all cable connections between your network and the copier. If you are using Ethernet, ensure the port lights are illuminated. If you are on Wifi, check the "Device Information" button, and ensure that it shows a Wi-Fi Connection. Finally, failing that: Power cycle your network router. This can solve many network-related issues, aside from printing & scanning. Please list the ERROR CODE you are seeing on your machine. *Have you attempted the above troubleshooting steps?
