Change that Waste Toner!

Hello and Happy Tuesday! This is a subject that I am sure I covered before, but I feel it needs to be gone over once more.

On the majority of high speed copiers, there is a special bottle called the Waste Toner. This bottle collects left over toner that was left on the imaging drums and belt after a print or copy job. Eventually, this bottle gets full and must be replaced in order for your copier to continue operating.

Failure to change this out can either cause the machine to stop operating until you do, or can cause the toner to back up into the machine, causing damage.

On most models of copier from CopyLady, the empty Black (K) toner becomes the new waste toner, and in most cases, the machine will refuse to operate until this is changed out. Machines that have this style of waste toner will have that bottle to the left of the first paper tray. (Do NOT confuse this for the actual toner slot!)

If you have this style of copier, it is highly important that you ALWAYS change out the waste toner when you change out the Black (K) toner. You do NOT need to do this for the color toners as these will not fit in the waste toner slot.

No matter how full the bottle is, change it out every time you change the K toner out. Save yourself from the unnecessary downtime and cost of parts for your equipment. In fact, I will attach a handy, printable little guide to this post that you can download, print and post at your copier!
